Vinyl composition tile.

The cheapest hard surface per square foot that still holds up, as long as somebody keeps a finish on it. Schools, back of house, and utility space, where the budget decides and the floor still takes a beating.

Where it fits

Where the budget is tight and the traffic is not.

01

Schools and institutional

Decades of proven service, and any damaged tile is a few dollars to replace.

02

Back of house and utility

Storage, corridors, and mechanical rooms. Low visibility, high traffic.

03

Retail and warehouse

Large open floors where cost per square foot decides the material.

How we lay it

01

Level the slab

VCT telegraphs every ridge and low spot. Prep is most of the labor.

02

Snap the grid

Center lines snapped off the room so cut tiles land evenly at both walls.

03

Check the face

Every tile has a good face and a bad face. We sort face side as we lay, not after.

04

Set the pattern

Quarter-turn on each tile as standard, or whatever direction the client asks for.

01

What we carry

We’re a licensed Tri-West dealer, and we install VCT from Armstrong, AHF Contract, and Flexco, the names that still run commercial tile.
